Vanessa grew up in Queens, NY and spent her childhood eating Munchkins from Dunkin Donuts, bowling and pretending to be a librarian and a chef.

Much later, she attended Penn State University and Teachers College, Columbia University.
The majority of her early work was in NYC, working in inclusive settings such as day cares, preschools and schools, with toddlers and school aged children.
The Hawaii year

In 2004, Vanessa worked at Kapa'a Elementary School in Kauai, Hawaii.
After a year of being outdoors + making new friends that became family, she permanently returned to NYC + has continued her work with children since.
She expanded her skills to supervise graduate students at Columbia University and to work with children up to 15 years of age.

Currently, Vanessa resides in Park Slope, Brooklyn + provides home, school and day care based visits in Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan for children just under 2 to 15 years of age.
